Roof Waranties

When it comes to a big item purchase you want to make sure you get a labor and manufacturing warranty.

In my 16 yrs of Roofing, I have come across maybe 1 or 2 claims for defective materials. It’s very rare.

However I believe a good labor warranty from roofing Company is vital, it may be 3,5 or 10 yrs warranted. Keep in mind most roofs will need maintenance around the 10yr mark, and maintenance is vital to respective roof.

In other words a common architectural 30 yr roof, will last maybe 15/17yrs neglected, a proper maintained roof will give you the max roof life and closer to mid 23-27yr, again depending on where you area, climate, initial installation and maintenance will determine your roof life.

With out insulting anyone, I do believe the ability to offer manufacturer top tier warranties is elite in the roofing industry. At TinRoof, we offer limited and extra warranty from manufacturer. Do your home work on warranties, don’t get stuck, just because it’s warranted by manufacture…doesn’t mean it’s installed to quality.

In conclusion, most leaks on new roofs are from shotty labor or storm related.

So the fancy warranty, is voided after a storm, or after a leak, if repaired by other, and etc and at end of day your insurance or your pockets come to play, not a fancy manufacturing warranty.
